I can certainly understand that, but when I started out on this mission, it was not clear that it might come to this. I had thought that it was supposed to be an expedition and so put together a good crew. We were forced to leave Bogota before she was able to hire the locals as guides, porters, and other jobs, or the number of people would have been greater. I will remember this for the next time and will limit the number of people involved to as few as possible.

I am sorry for messing up the scenario with multiple NPCs.

No need to be sorry – it’s still your decision as a player if you want to use them now that you have two other players with you in the game.

My opinion is not more valid than anyone else’s – I just don’t like the excuse “it’s what my character would do”.

Every player has full control over his character. I decide that my desire not to split the group weighs higher than Vindariel’s natural inclination to be pragmatic and get the hell out of this place, because I think it will benefit the story in the long term and will make GMing easier for Aria.

I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade either… I have no particular problem with the soldiers, we’re not rolling D so they are as much a plot hook as any other background character and that’s fine, just a gentle warning that I’m in full blown evil GM mode on this one… great sacrifice for great RP… or so I hope! I respect the decision to go back down, it does seem to fit Alyce and I know various military units try and adopt a no one left behind policy so there’s nothing wrong with that either… I admit my limited knowledge of organised crime would suggest a more selfish outlook but these are Mercy’s folk and I’m not going to contradict that. As long as everyone is enjoying the RP then cool ?

Ok folks, for various reasons (including looking in the wrong places) Dream is gone for now and I’m proposing to pause the Immortals threads for a while to focus on FA and IMF for a bit. I want to take some time to ponder the next momentous chapter properly. Feel free to post on home…or if you really want to continue this bit I could perhaps be persuaded…?!?

So how much time will pass before we go again? I can do something with Sian that could eat up some time, but it would likely be a few months. Is that too long?

On an immortal timescale there’s no hurry to do anything much so a few months should be fine… in fact any new ‘run’ is likely to take place after FA in the timeline so there should be plenty of time for side trips. With SR6 taking place in 2080 more or less as long as you don’t hit that sort of time frame we should be fine!
