Spoiler:Kynos goes to full defense:
Full Defense: 26d6t5 11
Full Defense: 25d6t5 11
Full Defense: 24d6t5 10
Full Defense: 23d6t5 6
Kynos kept his cool and deftly evaded the attacks. “Any time you feel like it, get cracking”, he called to his companions.

Not bothering to respond to his jibe and with Kynos clear of the door and looking like he was about to get swamped by chittering monstrosities Lily dove forward without hesitation her cybernetic form a blur of motion as she deftly avoided claws to strike up at one of the batlike things with her right hand sparking electricity as the contacts met the semi material form…

The mantis-bat zapped by Lilly veered off, bouncing off a wall.
A couple of the toads shoot out their tongues.
One aims for Kynos, who has slipped away from all his foes so far
bind (LOS): 10d6t5 2
The other shoots at Lilly
Bind (LOS) vs Lilly: 10d6t5 3
Spoiler:Don’t forget the accumulated penalty on dodges — these spirits are not so tough individually but they might yet wear people down enough … -

Bronwean had fitted a magazine tat looked more like a metal milk carton. With a shot eating grin the toggled the smart link into full auto, she knew putting 120 capsule rounds was still going to bugger up the gasplug and probably the baffles in the suppression, but fuck it and she held the trigger down. As the weapon jiggered and bounced in her hands she hosed the room down with blight rounds.

Orcos hates me but at least it’s not a glitch. Edge and a re roll

The spirits seem to ignore the suppresive fire, until the first mantis-bat flies starts pulsing multiple colors at faster-than-strobe-light speed while crashing into the ceiling, a wall, and finally the floor. It proceeds to leak streamers of stinking light across the floor as it thrashes around, not all of its pieces appearing to be connected at all times.
After that the others start swooping and skittering and hopping away from the bolts of blight. There is no real cover in the room, but they do their best to get under, over, or to the sides of where she is pointing her weapon.
To further improve the dryad’s mood, she feels mana rush into the chamber, rising up to near-inebriating levels.
-
Kynos used the opportunity to shoot a few more bursts into the large toad demon things, making them explode the old fashioned way. It was a tedious task, but his thick, all encompassing armor prevented him from suffering any real damage.
Before too long he had to exchange magazines and the floor gleamed with slowly evaporating ectoplasm.

While Kynos and Batshit focused their fire on the centre of the room Lily danced around the edges, a deadly and graceful ballet as she swept her Blight drenched cyber spur through the floating abominations that were trying to avoid the onslaught in the centre ground. She would never tire, never get slower and a small part of her exalted in her skill whilst another more detached part of her brain recognised that she needed that to keep the dread at bay…

The surviving Mantis-Bats swooped in a tight spiral around each other, then flew back out, one at each runner. As they came they broadcast a mixture of infrasound, ultrasound, and discordant magic, all adding up to a feeling of terror.
Spoiler:Fear attack, resisted by willpower+logic. critter rolls in the OOC thread -
Kynos just looked a bit bored behind his visor at the sound attack:
“That all you got?” Before continuing to take pot shots at the annoying critters. -

As the bat things auditory and metaphysical assault hit Lily she buckled… all her fears seemed to crash in on her… suddenly she was back in those catacombs that she’d escaped from below London…running naked and alone through dank twisting tunnels, tears streaming down her face and blood on her grey metallic hands… she burst out in to a riot of colour and sound, some sort of underground market, flinching from the sounds she turned sharply to her left and crashed through a flower stall, elegant white blooms (Lilies) cascading around her, their heady scent reminding her of something elusive, something that she couldn’t quite place that danced out of reach in her mind. A kindly hand reached down to pick her up, wrapping a coat around her… the look turned to shock as the halberd crashed down…the hunters…
In the SnoLab Lily ran, fast, her cybernetic body propelling her away from her fears…

Of course, there wasn’t far for Lilly to go. A couple of tight circles and then she dashed into the small chamber, brushing past Batshit on the way. Her hands scrabbled for the wheel to open the door and let her flee farther, but with the door into the larger room open, this door was locked in place, and even her cybernetic strength didn’t serve to move the wheel, at least at first …
Spoiler:Aria, maybe a strength + body roll to see if she can overpower the locking mechanism? Or feel free to narrate her channelling her fear in a different direction after the door rebuffs her. If either of the others want to help or hinder Lilly in her current state and efforts, sing outMeanwhile, Kynos’ calm shooting dropped another of the spirits, and Batshit felt herself becoming fully charged.
-
Batshit howled a truly blood curdling howl as the steadily gunned down the remaining flying manta. Even before the thing had finished disintegrating she moved to lily’s side, her enviable grace now impossibly fast. Bronwean raised her mask to talk to her face to face. Lilly was horrified to see herself under bronweans armour even as she spoke in an irresistible voice.
“calm! It dead, calm down”
-
While Kynos works on making sure that the toads are truly down — they seem to take more killing than you’d expect — two scuttlers dash into the vestibule, not on the scent of fear
Spoiler:Batshit’s compulsion sounds like a good reason for Lilly to make another roll, and with Batshit’s magic being fully charged make it at +3dice. After that both please make a defense test (-3 for Lilly if still feared), then feel free to kill the last couple of spirits. -
The team clears out the spirits, then as quiet falls they hear a banging from the far door. They see a face at the window, but rather than opening the door he seems to be yelling something. The door does a thorough job of muffling sound, but Batshit finally makes out “They keep coming!” and so reacts in time to nail the next Mantis-Bat as it materializes. After that the team keeps careful watch as they decide what to do next, pouring more ammo into one of the toad-like creatures. It becomes obvious that they can kill the spirits as they appear, but their ammo won’t last long when spirits are replaced a few times a minute.
-
Kynos stopped firing when the tide ebbed and instead began to punch the little critters as they appeared. Thanks to the DMSO/Blight on them, they proved to be highly effective to keep the critters under control.
“Get the next door. I can do that a while, but it’s getting dull after an hour or so.”

With the immovable door blocking her frantic scabbling and then Batshit up in her face Lily was able to snap out of her fugue state and force herself, reluctantly, to turn back and face the nightmare creatures

Batshit dove into the room “lilly” she called cheerfully “shut the door after me, be right back” she sang
The manna surge made her boosts a tad unpredictable, she sped across the room a slammed into the wall
“ooph” she grunted “haha ha” her shit eating grin lighting up the room” she felt the mAnna fulx, ebb and swirl as lily slammed the door shut and spun the wheel on the lock.
She peered through the portal in the door “get ready to move” she shouted even as She leant against the wheel for the door to spin the lock open.
-
Kynos retreated to the lock, so they could close the door and open the one on the other side.
-
Batshit opened the second door in the mana-lock, and was confronted by 9 faces peering at her. In the nearly non-existent light it was hard to read expressions, but some called out “Where did you come from?” while another sobbed “We’re rescued!” But a sardonic male voice rode over them “The mana resonance is already starting to collapse, but I doubt that will do much to stop the monster in resonator room. We might be able to escape for a few minutes, maybe even make it up to the surface, but whatever that is, I don’t think we escape it that easily.“
Perhaps addressing Batshit he carries on “I do hope that you are informed rescuers, who came equipped for the job.” A woman calls out “Jerry, if I could see you right now I’d kick you in the nuts. Thank you nice rescuers, please get us the frag out of here quickly and we can talk about how to stop that thing once we are out. Maybe we can call the army or something.“
