Jawsey remembered at the last minute to leave his sword cane in the car, then hurried into the club ahead of Mato & Chau. He sent <<don’t drag him right over to his father, let’s try not to make too much of a scene>>

He spotted the older Mr. Chau not far from where he’d last seen him, approached, and gave a small bow. At a small nod from that gentleman, Jawsey commented “We happened to encounter your son tonight, and he expressed a desire for the comfort of his father’s hospitality. We brought him here to ensure that no misfortunes happened along the way. And with respect to the parable I mentioned earlier tonight, it turns out that when hungry ghosts roam, both wolves and bears may be safest in the comfort of their dens.

Junior explains “They were too ambitious, once I out Dream and Nightmare as Shedim infested, they will have a revolt to handle. In the Chaos that follows- a daring entrepreneur can secure a lucrative turf. Especially if I find the right investors”

Chau replies “You have some balls Jawsey”, he makes a subtle hand gesture, and Void responds without delay.
“I’ll take it from here.” her face is blank, and intentions are almost impossible to estimate.

Mato nudges Junior forward roughly. He stands just a few centimeters behind Junior’s shoulder as he marches him forward toward Senior. He doesn’t really expect Junior to bolt – not on foot, not in the middle of Tacoma – but nor does he want to give the impression that any of this is optional. Junior seems like the young, impetuous type who might do something completely illogical.

Once Junior is squarely in front of Senior, Mato steps back to let Junior enjoy the full force of Senior’s blank glare.

Bobby kept – for once – his mouth shut, but kept on looking menacingly at the club owner’s mercenary, ready to turn her into a pug if necessary.

AM chimes in >> They may have regenerative powers, but then the grenade was no threat. Perhaps the warehouse was important to them, or that power is not perfect, and being blown up by a grenade would prevent them from assuming their normal positions.

Chau barely looks at his prodigy and Void takes him by the hand and leave the club. He glares at the team, clearly waiting for them to say what do they want.

<<Just tell him to make sure he doesn’t inconvenience our client anymore.>> Bobby finally added over the comm. He wanted to get out of here. There was still quite some work to be done – and maybe, just maybe – getting on Chau Senior’s good side would bring them some additional work in the future. But he was sure Jawsey would think of that too and maybe hand out one of their business cards.
Civilized, civilized, that’s what this was all about – and so he kept his mouth shut.

Jawsey slides out one of their business cards, and presents it with a bow to Chau senior. “[colore=red]I believe our business is done, and the bear can go back to his slumber in peace. Should you need to contact us, here is our information.[/color]”

As soon as they leave the club, he makes a voice call to Gau. Still giddy with relieve from walking out of the club in one piece, he tells him “You are blessed my friend, truly blessed in your choice of contractors. We have taken care of the situation already and you should be safe from future issues. Who would think you could go from the start of an underground war to being able to sleep peacefully tonight so quickly? But we are that good.

More soberly he adds “However I also have disturbing news, that your lovely wife certainly needs to know, and which you may wish to circulate. There are shedim active in Redmond. They had possessed a Halloweener lieutenant at the very least. I finished off two of the nasty things. The ones that I fought were not the strongest — thank the spirits — and they were desperately hungry enough to be foolish. It was a near thing all the same, however. I think AM and I will be looking to get those lodge materials and to set up our lodge as soon as possible.

He finishes up with an ARO to Adeline Peters, his forensic mage contact. <<Adeline [Jawsey] I ran into a couple of shedim today in Redmond. I survived the experience and they didn’t, but somehow I had the impression that there were more around. I was checking in some activity of the Halloweeners at the time; I don’t know that the two were linked, but I’m certainly going to be keeping an eye on that. Just thought you should know. Stay safe out there!>>

Chores done, he turned to the team. “Time for us to finally get that pizza?

Chau takes the card and observes it carefully, but his face is difficult to read. AM says on the way out “When dealing with Chinese or Japanese You should present business in two hands and lower your gaze when you do. It is kind of a ritual, really. Great talking otherwise, love it that you have the balls to talk with these psychos.”

Gau says “I take your word for being safe, the Shedim thing is troublesome indeed, though in the Haloweener’s are not far from Shedim in their behavior so it may be hard to distinguish. “

Adeline Peters responds >> Thanks for the tip, I’ll look into it. Contact me more if you have more information.

Mato seems a bit lighter on his feet after Junior’s delivery. It’s because he’s activated his skimmers and he’s using them to perform some frictionless dance moves on the floor. He’s not much of a dancer but his gymnastics training, coupled with his cyberlimbs, allow him to spin and leap like a mundane professional. He seems to be becoming one with his ‘ware, seeking a cyber singularity out there on the dance floor before sliding to the door to drive home with the team.

Bobby yawned as the team moved back to their car: “That went better than expected – and a lot faster. We are getting the hang of that detecting business after all. Best of all, with that haul and after taxes and expenses I can get my debt finally under 20k. Three more gigs like that and I can finally go and upgrade my wardrobe.”

AM sighs proud and frustrated “I’ll reduce it to about 50k, which is quite a feat but would I am still one failure away from broken bones.” pausing she added. “Though, it is a good day let’s have Pizza.”
