    I did it a text to Andrew which would let you have him respond (or call?) when you are free, and us to keep the dialogue going without worrying about it too much.

    Is the interlude after the call with Andrew concluded?

    Because I’d be starting the preparations for the next chapter of our plucky little detective agency.

    Yes, a conversation with Andrew is as far as I had plans. Maybe I’ll have Mato reappear for final thoughts. This would probably happen Sunday night or Monday sometime so I’m not writing long posts on my phone.

    But to the degree that it’s open world, I can accommodate other explorations, investigations, conversations, shopping, calls to Contacts, etc.

    IC post is up. Andrew is on site and you can speak with him directly if you like. The understanding is that he would ask for a recap of the events from your perspective, and then would survey the rest of the neighborhood. You’re welcome to tell him anything you like, or ask him questions. He won’t volunteer a lot of information without asking, but he’ll respond if queried.

    I just posted an IC response to AM, and now I see Beta IC posted at the same time. I’ll update my post to include Andrew’s response to Jawsey.

    Jack, let us know if you have anything to add.

    Nothing much to add – Bobby should und no circumstances be allowed to talk to the Yakuza 😉

    In other news, I’m preparing the next Chapter.
    Does one of your characters have a reliable connection in the art business – if not I’ll use one of your police contacts.

    We can wrap up this Interlude and put a bow on it.

    The rewards we used for the first Interlude seem to have worked well, so I’ll use those as a baseline again. We went a bit further than the first Interlude – 64 posts this time vs. 54 last time – so I’ll throw in an optional bonus.

    Karma: 2 karma, enough to buy off a rank of In Debt if/when you can afford it
    Contact: +1 Loyalty, Katsuo “Andrew” Musai (now Loyalty 2)
    Knowledge Skill (specific): +1 Sioux Sign Language
    Knowledge Skills (general): 3 points to spend as you please, to either buy new knowledge skill(s) and/or to add to existing knowledge skills, the goal being to advance things that are often afterthoughts. Spend these the same way you would in chargen (e.g. a specialization costs 1 skill point).
    Quality (optional): Buy 1 rank of the Battle Hardened quality (Street Lethal, p. 181) without the x2 multiplier for postchargen quality purchases. So, +1 rank = 2 karma. The benefit: “Gain +1 to all Composure tests while engaged in a hostile situation. This quality can be taken up to three times, increasing the modifier by 1 each time. This quality does not offer any benefit versus spells or critter powers.”

    @Jack Bobby doesn’t need to respond to Jawsey (although feel free to do so); I’m just laying some groundwork for Jawsey to discover his mentor at some point.

    @Tecumseh I’d missed grabbing these rewards after the first interlude, so apologies that I’m asking this question months late. For the knowledge skills, 1 point buys a specialization. But does ‘like in character creation’ mean that if you put 3 points into a new skill it ends up at 3 (like three points in character generation) or 2 (like buying with karma). I think you mean the former, but not sure.

    @gilga
    Good IC post.

    @Beta
    Andrew directing more of his conversation at AM is mostly a byproduct of gilga posting first. Andrew is fine speaking with Jawsey – and appreciated his Japanese in the First Interlude – but AM scored some points with a business card and a more formal introduction. I had to look back through the First Interlude to see if Jawsey had ever introduced himself, mostly because I needed a name for Andrew to use. I didn’t find an introduction, so I went with Thompson. If that’s not what Jawsey would have used, let me know and I’ll update it.

    And, yes, the former scenario is correct. 3 free points = 3 ranks in the knowledge skill, or split up between skills like I do below.

    @All
    For disclosure, Mato bought Battle Hardened I. He also advanced Cybertechnology (the knowledge skill) by 1 rank, and picked up new knowledge skills for Drum Music and Gardening. I imagine Mato puttering around on the roof, trying to figure out what will grow in the acid rain.

    Jawsey may have been jumping to conclusions, but also I was happy to push AM as the main talker in some situations. Sometimes I’m happy to have other do the jaw-jawing.

    I’m taking the knowledge points from this interlude to put 2 into street knowledge of ‘Gangs of Redmond’ (I figure that is about right by now) and 1 to add to his “Seattle Music Scene” . And I’ll buy a level of battle hardened (Jawsey’s attributes make it less important, but I feel it is a nice way of showing becoming more veteran).

    @Jack_Spade Not an art contact per se, but one police contact and a couple who might know about art stuff?
    Could have arts connections? (they haven’t been defined beyond the names)
    Comcomly; (Seattle Downtown) Fixer (C4, L2)
    Green Toes; (Seattle, Courts) Free Fae Spirit (C2, L2)

    Police:
    Adeline Peters; (Seattle) KE Forensic Magician (C2, L3)

    ETA: changed fixer name

    Jack, it might be a good opportunity to use Janet Dime. a 36 years old divorcee which is a curator for an art Museum downtown Seattle. While the museum is legit, Janet occasionally purchases art from illegal sources to get ahead. She also acquires art for private collectors – which means she sometimes deals with criminals. Asides from art, Janet lives an eccentric hedonistic life and spends much time doing Yoga, swimming. She follows closely Seattle’s music scene.

    AM talked to Janet a few times in the museum, (she is interested in art), she has never worked for Janet but the two share common Mafia connections that can vouch/recommend AM. (She has her at Loyalty 1).

    Since Ally spirits cost a fortune, I’ll keep the 2 karma in case I’ll be short. I spent the free knowledge skills to increase ranks in magical theory following AM’s obsession with crafting a more meaningful Ally spirit.

    From the previous chapter she also picked up the remote sensing ritual, and a spell that allows her to project astral and regular sight away from herself. Still within the theme of trying to make up for not being able to astrally project.

    @Tec glad you liked the post! 😉

    Just improved my character:
    Interlude:
    Karma: 2
    Contact: +1 Loyalty, Katsuo “Andrew” Musai (now Loyalty 2)
    Knowledge Skill (specific): +1 Sioux Sign Language
    Knowledge Skills (general): 3 points: +1 Small Unit Tactics (having seen the gang in Action), New Knowledge Skill Gangs (Redmond) for 2

    I’m banking the 2 karma for the moment. Battle Hardened is tempting, but I might have to invest in a few other qualities soon.

    @gilga
    That contact sounds perfect. I’ll set up the initial post with her.
